  • Founding of Local 1806

    On October 28th, 1968, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) issued a CHARTER for the institution of a LOCAL UNION to 16 City of Longmont firemen.  Those firemen were:

    Robert Thoman

    Earl Simmons

    Paul Meze (Deceased, 2014).  Longmont Fire 1951 - 1973, Retired at rank of Captain.

    Marvin Whisman (Deceased, 2022).  Veteran - Air Force.  28 years with Longmont Fire Department.  Retired at rank of Division Chief in 1985.

    Lewis Embree (Deceased, 2015)

    William Terry

    Jack Stotts

    Bob Spencer

    Gerald Schlagel

    Ray Leckbee

    Ralph Barth

    Gary Lodges

    Richard Layes

    Mac. Fanning

    Ron Jeffery

    and

    Gary Larris.
